Fox Cotton (Naturally Coloured Cotton) had a smaller fiber which was not suitable for modern looms so was never available for mass produced denim.
In 1982 Sally Fox, a graduate in Integrated Pest Management from The University of California started researching coloured cotton and used her knowledge and experience in technology to produce the first long staple naturally coloured cotton. Fox rediscovered and hand-bred a type of naturally coloured cotton (Fox fiber) in 1989 that could be dated back around 5000 years. Due to its density and strength of yarns it is ideal for making quality jeans with tonnes of texture and ages beautifully.
