The Service Boot is an updated interpretation of Viberg's original work boot, designed by founder Edwin Viberg in 1931. A similar pattern was used by multiple nations as a standard issue military boot during WWII.

Viberg have taken this iconic design and decked it out in a Waxy Commander leather from the UK’s C.F. Stead Tannery. This is a rugged and reliable leather that’s undergone a special curing method to shrink and tighten the fibres of the hide. This results in a durable, water-resistant, and above all beautiful leather. It has a waxy hand and a high pull-up that will develop some exceptional character down the line. The boot’s Stitchdown construction guarantees a long and resoleable life.

Viberg boots are the end result of numerous hand-finished processes - from the tanning of the rare leathers to the free-hand trimming of the soles. They undergo strict quality inspections at Viberg's Victoria workshop and upon arrival here at Rivet & Hide. Any slight variations in colour and texture should therefore be considered a part of the Service Boot’s unique character.

NB: The size you order will be the size stamped in the boots. Viberg fits more closely to UK rather than US sizing so please take this into account when making your choice. If you need any assistance with sizing, please reach out to us via email, we are always happy to help.
