Matsuda
Innovation and experimentation have been a part of Matsuda’s DNA since Mitsuhiro Matsuda founded his fashion house in Tokyo in 1967. One of his biggest successes was the launch of an eyewear collection in 1989. With a distinctively Japanese approach and avant-garde aesthetic he blazed his own very unique path. Gothic architecture, Art Deco and industrial design are constant influences in Matsuda’s glasses designs to this day. Each frame is an artwork in itself that uses the finest metals - pure titanium, stainless steel, silver and gold as well as sculpted Japanese acetate. All incredibly lightweight. They are hand made in the city of Sabae, Japan, and involve over 250 steps by craftsmen and women with unrivalled skill. Every hinge, temple and component is thoughtfully considered. This is luxury eyewear by Matsuda, expertly executed, and as pleasing to the hand as it is to the eye.
