The N1 was the cold weather system par excellence throughout WWII. The cornerstone of that system was the N1 Deck Jacket. Cut from a rough and tough jungle cloth to a stout and manoeuvrable fit, it was the perfect piece for keeping troops warm and mobile in the harshest conditions.
The Real McCoy’s N1 Deck Jacket is about the closest, most accurate, reproduction of the original garment that we’ve seen. Honouring everything from the slash pockets to the Talon-style zippers that graced many of the archival examples, it’s a meticulous rendition that could only be achieved with The Real McCoy’s ambition and know-how.
The body, sleeves, and collar are lined with a 50/50 blend of long-pile alpaca and wool. A mix that not only sits closer to the original spec but also offers optimal comfort and durability. The front features a button-down placket to bolster the jacket’s wind and cold resistance. Storm cuffs and a pull string waist offer added protection by sealing in the core. The outer is a gross grain jungle cloth - a dense, and tight twill that acts as a tough but supple armour against the elements.
Junior is wearing a size 38 jacket. He is 173 cm tall and weighs 67 kg / 5ft 8" & 148 lbs.

Stage 1: The waist
- Button up the jean.
Lay flat with the top waist band evenly flat on the back waist band.
Measure from one side to the other keeping the jean flat & double the measurement.
Stage 2: The hip
- Measure 3 inches or 7.5cm from the crotch stitch.
Measure from side to side flat across the jean at this point.
Stage 3: Front rise
- Lay flat and measure from crotch seam to top of jean with top button fastened
Stage 4: Back rise
- Measure from crotch seam to top of the back of the jean.

From here measure from one side of the jean to the other.
Stage 7: hem width/leg opening

NB with very heavy denim 18oz and above measure the entire circumference of the exterior of the hem using a measuring tape and divide by 2 for a more exact figure.
