“Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio; a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy; he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now? Your gambols? Your songs? Your flashes of merriment, that were wont to set the table on a roar?” (Hamlet, Act V, Scene 1)
Made in collaboration with artist, Björn Atldax, Indigofera’s “Yorick” blanket is a psychedelic ode to Shakespeare’s Hamlet. It’s every bit as rich in textural charm as it is textual references. From skulls to mousetraps to gravediggers to gifts of fennel, Indigofera have woven a rich tapestry of visual callbacks to the playwright’s most celebrated (and misquoted) tragedy.
All of Indigofera’s blankets are crafted in central Norway by a family-owned factory using premium, 100% wool. The factory has been weaving quality wool products for 80 years. They have a hand in every element of the making process, from the spinning and dyeing of the yarn to the weaving of the blankets themselves. Even the wool comes from sheep native to the area. Indigofera’s blankets are built to be lived and travelled in – take them on your wildest adventures or keep them for those quiet nights on the couch. The choice is yours.
